What is Klingenberg Resort?
Klingenberg Resort is a collection of accommodations and experiences by the Sognefjord in Årdal. Here you will find Klingenberg Hotel, Sitla Hotel and Vetti Gard Tourist Station, as well as restaurants and pubs with local food and drink.
Where is Klingenberg Resort located?
The resort is located in Årdal, at the heart of the Sognefjord, surrounded by mountains and fjords. It is a short drive to Utladalen and Jotunheimen National Park.
What is the difference between Klingenberg Hotel, Sitla Hotel and Vetti Gard?
Klingenberg Hotel: comfortable hotel on Årdalstangen by the fjord with a restaurant, pub and conference facilities.
Sitla Hotel: budget-friendly alternative in Øvre Årdal
Vetti Gard: historic mountain farm in Utladalen, open in the summer, for those who want closeness to nature and tranquility.
Do you have your own restaurant?
Yes, Strondi Restaurant serves dinner every day. We also have a pub with food and all rights. As well as outdoor seating in the summer season.
What are the opening hours of the restaurant?
Opening hours vary by season. They are updated regularly on the website and on our Facebook page.
Can I bring a dog?
Yes, some rooms at Klingenberg Hotel and Sitla Hotel are dog-friendly. Please let us know when booking. (250kr extra)
Do you have parking and charging facilities?
Yes, free parking at the hotel. There is also electric car charging right next to Klingenberg Hotel.
What activities and experiences do you offer?
Guests can explore mountain hikes in Årdal, Utladalen and Jotunheimen, boat trips on the fjord, bike tours, cycling, park games, shuffleboard, music events, quiz nights and local food experiences.
Do you offer packages or stays with dinner and activities?
Yes, we have several seasonal packages – for example “Hiking Package” and “Stay with 3-course dinner”. These can be booked via the website.
Can I book packages directly online?
No, packages and accommodation can be reserved by contacting reception via phone or email
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in between 3:00 PM and 10:30 PM
Check-out between 6:30 AM and 12:00 PM
Do you have conference or meeting rooms?
Yes, Klingenberg Hotel has meeting and conference rooms with technical equipment and catering by appointment.
What is the season for Vetti Gard?
Vetti Gard is usually open from about June to mid-September. Dates to be announced
How do I get to Årdal?
You can drive via E16 from Lærdal/Fodnes, Tindevegen or Tyin, or take a bus to Årdalstangen. The nearest airport is Sogndal Airport
Do you have gift cards?
Yes, we sell gift cards that can be used for accommodation, food and selected experiences.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept most payment and credit cards, Vipps and digital payments.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, cancellation policies are stated in the order confirmation. They vary slightly between hotels and packages.
What languages do you speak?
We speak Norwegian and English, and are happy to welcome international guests.

Klingenberg Hotel and Sitla Hotel are open all year round. Vetti Gard is seasonal.
